Frequently asked questions.

What time do I need to arrive in Troncones on Thursday December 5th?

We recommend flying to Troncones (ZIH Airport) no later than 4pm on Thursday. Give yourself some time to checkin and settle into your hotel before the fun begins at 5:30pm.

How do I get from ZIH Airport to my hotel? How much?

There is no Uber in the area, so you’ll be taking a taxi. You can pre arrange with your hotel, use a contact we will provide closer to our trip, or even get one at the airport. There is a taxi stand inside the airport where you can purchase a private transfer from the airport to your hotel. It costs $30-40 USD.

What time is the Wedding?

Saturday December 7th at 4:30pm (please arrive at 4:15pm) The location is Lo Sereno Hotel.

Do I need to wear shoes to the Wedding?

No!! Our ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner will take place on the beach. Shoes/Sandals are optional.

Where do I eat in Troncones? What things can I do?

We will provide a list of restaurants and recommendations for you closer to the trip! It’s a small, walkable town with a few good options to choose from for breakfast/lunch and dinner. If you are staying in a villa, we recommend hiring a chef for your meals!

Can I drink the water in Troncones? What about Ice Cubes?

Do not drink the tap water! You can even go an extra step by using bottled water when brushing your teeth. As per ice cubes, use your judgement or ask a waiter where you are eating. For the most part, it is always filtered water, especially at the establishments hosting us. It never hurts to ask; Mexico is a third world country!

Do I need cash? Pesos? USD?

We always recommend having cash on hand! Pesos or USD is accepted everywhere and great for tipping. Troncones is full of expats and established businesses, so credit card is accepted everywhere as well.

Is Troncones safe? Anything I need to look out for?

Very safe - in fact, it’s part of the reason we picked this town in Mexico! When you arrive at ZIH airport, you will notice many other expats around you. Troncones is like the Naples of Mexico; home to many Canadian and American retirees that call the beach home. You’ll hear English in the restaurants.

We always recommend being aware and cautious, you are in a new place! Be smart, keep your belongings in safe places, and prepare to meet some of the nicest local people.

Can I bring my kids?

Sorry, this is a kid free wedding! Hopefully some time to relax and recharge :)
